The winner of the BOX TOP contest is Mark Johnson’s family. They received a $15 Wal-mart gift card. Our next deadline is the end of February. Keep saving, trimming and bundling BOX TOPs into groups of 50, turn bonus boxtops in separately. Remember to check expiration dates.
Education Savings Accounts
Education Savings Accounts are the way of the future. Under such accounts – managed by parents with state supervision to ensure accountability – parents can use their children’s education funding to choose among public and private schools, online education programs, certified private tutors, community colleges, and even universities. Education savings accounts bring Milton Friedman’s original school voucher idea into the 21st century.
What are Education Savings Accounts?
Education savings accounts allow parents to withdraw their children from public district or charter schools and receive a deposit of public funds into government-authorized savings accounts with restricted, but multiple uses. Those funds can cover private school tuition and fees, online learning programs, private tutoring, community college costs, and higher education expenses.
What is School Choice?
School choice is the opportunity for parents to choose the education environment that they believe will most benefit their child, regardless of family income or address. School choice programs, such as the Iowa STO program, remove the economic barriers that prevent parents from choosing the ideal education option for their child’s needs. With school choice, students receive funding that allows them to choose their “best-fit” school.
