My name is Jonathan De Jager and this is my first year at ICS. I was born and raised in Waupun, WI. I have two younger brothers: Jason is a senior at Dordt College and will graduate in December and Jordan has a full time job back in Wisconsin. I graduated Dordt College in the spring of 2013 with a BA in K-12 Physical Education, 5-8 Middle School classroom, and K-12 Coaching. After graduation I went back home and substitute taught for two years.
During my two years back I was heavily involved as a middle school and high school youth group leader at my church spending about 4-5 night a week at youth group, Bible studies, and supporting my kids athletic and musical school functions. I also love to play sports, go camping, hiking, and just hanging out with friends and family.
The reason I’m excited to teach at ICS is because I am a huge supporter of Christian education after going through 17 years of it and want to make an impact not only academically, socially and emotionally but also spiritually! I also enjoyed this area while in college and am excited to be back!
I’m glad God has brought me here to teach and I’m looking forward to fulfilling his plans as the 7th/8th grade teacher at ICS.
