SOME CHANGES TO THE SCHOOL CALENDAR:

  • Friday, February 10 there will be an 11:30 dismissal so teachers can attend professional training at Dordt in the afternoon
  • Wednesday, March 15 there is a full day of school and is not Grandparent’s Day. Please spread the word to grandparents about the date change.
  • Friday, March 24 is Grandparent’s Day with a 12:30 dismissal.

(more details to come).  This will be taking the place of the Science Fair for this year.

BAKE SALE TIME!

It is time for our winter bake sale alongside the soup supper. We are asking each family to bring at least 3 items to sell – more is welcomed. Please have items labels and priced.  Be creative and have some fun with it. The list below is a good suggestion, but if you have more/different items to bring please feel free.

Please have your items to school by Monday, January 23 at 4pm.

$ 1.50 per cupcake or $12 for dozen

$ 7 per dozen cookies – depending on type of cookie

$ 5 half dozen bars, $8-10 full pan of bars

$ 5-10 cakes, bundt, angel food, layered, decorated

$ 2 popcorn balls, caramel apples

$ 6-8 for large bread (banana, lemon/poppyseed/pumpkin)

$ 3-5 for mini bread

$ 6-8 gallon size snack mixes

$ 3 for quart size snack mixes

$5 for half dozen muffins

$ 8-12 for pies – fruit, cream, fresh, frozen

$ 5 canned jams, pickles, salsa, meat

$ 5-7 quarts of canned soup

$ 3-5 cookie/bar in a jar mix, hot chocolate mix

$ 15-25 for full frozen meals

BLUEGRASS GOSPEL CONCERT PACKETS

…went home last week.  So, hopefully everyone has gotten their packet and sent out their letters.

The 19th Annual ICS Bluegrass Gospel Concert will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the BJ Haan Auditorium in Sioux Center.

This year, the concert is earlier, March 25, so we will need everyone’s cooperation in getting out their letters and contacting their businesses soon!!

Please remember this is a HUGE part of our school’s financial needs.  Also, please don’t forget to send a Thank You!  It is vitally important.  Your follow-up can make a difference in consistent contributors.

DEADLINE TO TURN IN PACKETS IS ONLY 2 WEEKS AWAY ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6!!

 

TRIP NEWS

Upcoming order dates are:  January 30, February 21 (Tuesday), March 13, April 3 (last order before payout), April 24, May 15.

 TRIP questions can be answered by Donna or Nicki at school on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 8:30 – 2:00.

TRIP Order form can be printed off the school website if you need one.

Orders need to be in the TRIP box in the school office or given to Donna Koopmans by 8:30 AM on order dates in your family envelopeNo late orders will be taken. Do not fax or call orders to my house – money needs to accompany orders or they will not be processed. Please try to remind your child to bring the order to their teacher or the office right away when they get to school, so that orders will not be forgotten or late.
