Hello, my name is Emily Laackmann and I am so excited to be the music and band teacher next school year! I live in Sioux Center, and will continue to reside there after my fiancé, Tom Toel, and I get married in July. I graduated from Northwestern College in 2017, and am currently working on attaining my Masters Degree in music education via distance learning at the University of Minnesota. I taught 5-12 band at Boyden-Hull for four years and 5-8 band at Newton Christian School for one year. My main instruments are clarinet and saxophone, and I’ve been involved in the Dordt University Campus-Community band and local musicals.
I am looking forward to meeting all of the students and families of Ireton Christian School. I can’t wait to make music, and to guide students through the gift, enjoyment, and purpose of music that God has given us!
